The town is served by two railway stations one in the town centre and the second about a mile away at Giggleswick. The town is located about twenty-nine miles from the international airport at Leeds and Bradford.
The B6480 is the main road running through the town. This road links with the A65 which connects Settle with Skipton.
Settle is a very popular tourist resort in Yorkshire and it attracts a vast number of tourists every year from all around the world. Currently the town of Settle has a population of about two thousand four hundred and twenty two.
Historically Settle was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire and the town lies on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The town is within a few miles from the Three Peaks. This area is probably best known for its railway station.
Settle is still popular as a market town and a weekly market is held every Tuesday in the town centre.
This district consists of several caves some of which contain prehistoric remains and probably the one that is best known is Victoria Cave. The cave got its name due to the inner chamber being discovered in 1837 on the same day of Queen Victoria's accession day.
